Born and raised in Ettrick, Va., Hermon is an accomplished business executive with an impressive track record of getting results.  A retired US Marine Corps, Gunnery Sergeant, Hermon spent most of his military career in the Recruiting and Retention Service.  Hermon earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Averett University and went on to earn a master’s degree in human resources from Pennsylvania State University and Diversity Certificate from Cornell University.  Since entering the Financial Services Industry, Mason has been recognized as the Southern Region (GA, AL, TN) Agency Manager of the Year and is a three-time recipient of the GAMA International Management Diamond Level Award.

 

Always giving back to his community, he’s involved with several organizations in the Metro Atlanta Area such as The Atlanta Business League, The Atlanta Track Club, Warrick Dunn Charities, The 100 Black Men of Atlanta and West Georgia College and Career Institute CCI.

 

Mason is a Life Member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc and The 100 Black Men of Atlanta. Due to his community involvement, Mason received the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for Volunteerism in 2017 from President Barack Obama.

 

Hermon and his wife Lana reside in Douglasville, GA.  They have 4 adult children, Jasmine, Joi, Anthoney and Chase and grandson Elias 4.
