Nicola O. Roberts is Vice President and Senior Business
Consultant at JPMorgan Chase Bank in Atlanta, Georgia,
with over 30 years of experience in banking and financial
services. She began her banking career as a part-time
teller during college and later completed a rigorous three-
year management & formal credit training at HSBC Bank.
She progressed to senior roles in Credit Underwriting and Portfolio Risk Management at leading
financial institutions that included Heller Financial, GE Capital, Merrill Lynch Capital, SunTrust,
BB&T (now Truist Bank), and Affinity Bank. Her expertise spans Asset-Based Lending, Corporate
& Middle Market Banking, Wholesale Commercial & Industrial (“C&I”) Lending, Real Estate, and
Healthcare & Practice, (dental & medical), finance. In these capacities she partnered with lenders
and executives to underwrite multimillion dollar credit facilities, facilitated the loan closing process,
and manage portfolios exceeding $75 – $350 million.
In 2017, Nicola ventured into entrepreneurship as an independent credit consultant and Mergers
& Acquisition Advisor at Transworld Business Advisors, where she brokered buy-sell transactions
and helped entrepreneurs, (from C-suites to C-stores), to source, structure, and secure complex
credit solutions. That hands on experience sharpened her appreciation for the resilience, agility,
and resources required to build and grow successful businesses.
In her current role with Chase Business Banking’s Coaching for Impact team, Nicola leverages
her background knowledge of the credit process and dynamic industry experiences to help
entrepreneurs access the capital and the resources needed to grow and scale strategically.
Known for her candor and commitment to opening doors, Nicola is passionate about breaking
barriers and broadening pathways to opportunity. She currently focuses her advocacy on
empowering business owners, especially in underserved & marginalized communities of Metro
Atlanta, where access can be transformative
